    Security surveillance - police action clips shown regulary on television demonstrate with absolute clarity the shocking driving tactics that criminals use to evade capture. The saying "a picture tells a thousand words" could never be more true. Put yourself in the place of the officer trying to explain in words to a sceptical Court with clever defence lawyers that the driver of an escaping car travelled at 100mph the wrong way up a dual-carriagway, weaved in and out of oncoming vehicles and travelled the wrong way round a roundabout, then the front seat passenger opened the car door and held a frightened, but vicious dog out to indicate that they would use the dog as a weapon if arrested!  It sounds far fetched, but a clip shown on national TV has proved that it happened.
      
    Before in-car video, the police officer had to give evidence, beyond reasonable doubt, that an offence had been committed. Convincing a Court that a vehicle had been driven dangerously over a long distance, with all the additional factors involved, was, to say the least, complicated. Some cases were lost.  Now that in-car video is available, the Court can make up its own mind!
     
    Gathering quality evidence is key to successful policing. Our systems utilize the best industrial cameras and lenses, fitted internally or externally in accordance with client preference. Real-time images are recorded to local rugged hard drives. The system has the ability to transmit data to a control room or ground commander, thus assisting fast decision making.  Audio data is also stored with the video stream but we can provide external wire-free audio and cordless video, if required.
     
    There is a lot of equipment installed in a 21st century police car - keeping it simple is important.  We have worked with developers and end users to offer a simple but rugged solution.  We provide a single touch screen system that incorporates the in-car video, mobile data terminal, satellite navigation and vehicle equipment operations hub. The system offers layered screens or multi image views, the choice is made by the operator. Gone are the myriad switches and dials that would confuse an airline pilot! Gone are the trailing wires and sagging roof linings! This system effectively becomes a secure mobile network, offering a comprehensive and user friendly operating system.
